Elizabeth G. Menges

LEBANON Elizabeth G. 'Betty' Menges, 87, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010, at ManorCare Health Services, Lebanon. She was the wife of the late Dr. Charles G.H. Menges. Betty was born in Rossville, on November 20, 1922, a daughter of the late Roderick Walker and Gertrude Mabel Urich Cook. Betty was a graduate of Temple University. She was a Registered Nurse at the Good Samaritan Hospital, the Lebanon VA Medical Center, and with the Visiting Nurses Association. Betty served as the Auxiliary President at the Good Samaritan Hospital from 1965-1967, and also served as the 1964 Chairman of the GSH Street Fair. She enjoyed playing bridge and cooking. She was a member of the Sandwich Club, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Hershey Italian Lodge. She is survived by two children, Lynn Menges, and Gregory C., husband of Carol Menges, all of Lebanon; one granddaughter, Susan Menges; and a dear close family friend, Bonnie Paul of Lebanon. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Dick Cook; and two sisters, Jean Osevala and Joan Hartman. Funeral Service 11 a.m. Thursday from Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 S. 9th St., Lebanon. Viewing Thursday morning 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Warrington Friends Cemetery, Warrington Twp., York County.
