Farrell Thompson Obituary
Manchester Twp.
Farrell S. Thompson, 78, died at 9:06 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at his residence. He was the husband of Maria "Vickie" (Mendoza) Thompson.
Born August 10, 1937, in York, a son of the late Chester and Emma (Detweiler) Thompson, he was a graduate of William Penn High School and Thompson Business School, and continued his education at York Junior College and Shippensburg University. He was a claims adjuster for PMA & Continental Insurance for 25 years. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1961-1966.
In addition to his wife of 52 years, Mr. Thompson is survived by 24 nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Blair Thompson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 S. George St., York, with the Rev. Don Alspaugh, Chaplain of Memorial White Rose Hospice, officiating. Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the York Cancer Center Patient Help Fund, 25 Monument Drive, Suite 194, York, PA 17403.

I was Farrell's roommate for a short time at York Hospital some weeks ago. We graduated from York High in 1955 and, though we weren't acquainted then, found we had some common friends. Wish I could have shared more memories with him of those carefree old days.
