Harry Redding Obituary

Harry C. Redding, Jr. SPRING GROVE Harry "June" C. Redding, Jr., 77, died at 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2005, at Man or Care Health Services Kingston Ct. The funeral service will be Friday, December 2, at 11 a.m., at Workinger-Semmel F.H. & Crematorium, Inc., 849 E. Market St., York, with the Rev. Kevin T. Shively, pastor of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, officiating. Viewings will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Mt. Rose Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Redding was born May 12, 1928, in York County. He was the son of the late Harry C. Redding, Sr. and Mary (Fake) Redding. Mr. Redding was employed by United Wallpaper as a bundler for eight years; was former owner/operator of Esso & Flying A gas station on S. Queen St. and Longstown Esso & Mobil, and he retired from Alloy Rods in Hanover. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Pleasureville American Legion Post 799, and a life member of Victory Athletic Assoc. Mr. Redding is survived by his former wife, Hattie L. (Murphy) Redding of York; two sons, Harry C. Redding III and William E. Redding, both of York; two daughters, Cynthia D. Redding of Columbia and Carolyn A. Westcott of York; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Nancy L. Luckenbaugh of York; and two brothers, James E. Redding of Spring Grove and Charles W. Redding of Emigsville. He was preceded in death by a greatgrandson, Jayden Redding. www.workinger-semmel.com
