What I will remember most about Jim are his smiling eyes and his whole face crinkling, caught up in the spirit of joyfulness and warmth. He was such a kind man and a thoughtful person. Jim was a philosopher at heart and seemed to embrace both humans in need and the natural world. He was a helper and a giver. His sense of humor and laugh were contagious. As Judith, my wife, noted, he performed our long, long wedding service with grace and a blessing spirit. He was the kind of person who would make your day better by having had a word with him. A life dedicated to service and exploring the cosmos was Jim's life--an excellent life. Best of luck on your travels, Jim, and thanks for being.

It was a pleasure to know Jim, he was such a kind, gentle and humble man. The students and the staff that he interacted with here at York High were fortunate to have him as a confidant and sounding board. As a person that enjoyed gardening, it was great to discuss that with him. In fact before he left for the summer, he came to see me in the main office to give me a gift of seeds, in a little homemade box. I will miss him.

Jim married my husband and I and was a shining light wherever he went. I would see him going into the homes of young people in the city and know he was a comfort and a dear nurturer to inner city teenagers at William Penn Highschool. My heart goes out to his loving wife who has such faith in the continuation of life and to all of those young people who will feel the loss of this great souled gentle and wise man. All Blessings Dear Jim and family, May we all aspire to be like Jim. judith and glen kennedy mazis

I knew Jim through his work at York H.S. He was a wonderfully sensitive and caring man whose kindness was contagious. He will stay in the hearts of all those young people he helped as well as his coworkers...My prayers are with your family...my deepest sympathy for you loss.
