John G. Botts

John G. Botts, 74, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2006, at Manor Care South. He was the husband of Shirley I. (Rupprecht) Botts with whom he celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on November 15, 2005. Mr. Botts was born in York County on February 26, 1932, to the late John and Bessie M. (Rauhauser) Botts. John was employed by York International as a mechanical engineer for 41 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the 25 Year Club of York International, Shiloh American Legion Post 791, and a life member of the Shiloh Fire Co. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a sergeant. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Julie B. Koble and her husband, Charles of Dover; and two grandchildren, Rebecca A. Koble and Benjamin E. Koble. All services will be private at the convenience of the family. His final resting place will be in Shiloh Cemetery with full military honors by the York County Honor Guard. Officiating will be the Rev. Kathy A. Swords, pastor from Shiloh Lutheran Church, York. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 924-N Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403-3450. Arrangements are by the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., York (Shiloh).
