Kenneth Hoff Obituary

HANOVER Kenneth E. Hoff, 63, died unexpectedly but peacefully on Sunday morning, April 1, 2007, with his family by his side, at the York Hospital from the results of a stroke. He was the loving husband of Connie L. (Miller) Hoff. The couple would have observed 18 years of marriage on June 9, 2007. The funeral service for Ken will be held in celebration and thanksgiving for his life at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church, 1398 Moulstown Rd., Hanover, with his pastor, the Rev. Dr. William H. Beck officiating, and Pastor Kenneth Martz, Jr. assisting. At Ken's request there will be a closed casket visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Irwin Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove. He will be laid to rest in Mt. Carmel Lutheran Cemetery following the service. Born on August 18, 1943, Ken was a son of the late Melvin and Grace (Toomey) Hoff. He was a self employed mason contractor for over 30 years as owner of Ken Hoff Masonry, Inc. He graduated with the Spring Grove High School Class of 1961. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church in Hanover. Ken was a loving husband, a caring father and a proud and attentive grandfather whose favorite times were spent with his family. He was also an avid golfer, a skilled wood craftsman, and a great fan of NASCAR racing. In addition to his wife, Connie, Ken will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Kimberlie A. McCleaf of Hanover, and Tracy Jo Kassakatis of Glenville; his stepdaughter, Tammy S. Aughenbaugh of York; his stepson, Shane H. Aughenbaugh of Spring Grove; four grandchildren, Larissa and Hunter McCleaf, and Brant and Mitch Aughenbaugh; two brothers, Donald M. Hoff and Richard S. Hoff, both of Hanover; five sisters, Esther R. Wilt, Naomi G. McMaster, and Jane E. Aughenbaugh, all of Hanover, Janet L. Slaybaugh of New Oxford, and Joanne M. Martz of Spring Grove. Ken was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Robert, and Walter Hoff and a sister, Marie Eck. Contributions may be made in memory of Ken to the Margaret Moul Home, 2050 Barley Rd., York, PA 17408; or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Central PA Chapter, 2040 Linglestown Rd., Suite 104, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
