Mark Shostak Obituary

Mark Andrew Shostak, 42, went to be with God Saturday evening, September 9, 2006, at 5:30 p.m. Mark was the loving son of Andrew and Dorothy (Miller) Shostak. Mark was a 1982 graduate of Red Lion Area Schools and attended DeVry University. He was an independent contract mechanical engineer, and a period with the National Institute of Standard Technology, Newton Square. He enjoyed playing football and was the quarter back for the Red Lion Area Lions. He also enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, and computers. He was born on May 17, 1964, and is survived by a brother, Jeffrey A.; two sisters, Barbra Smeltzer and Lisa Sentz; loving nieces and nephews; and Mark's beloved Sandy. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael A. Shostak. The funeral and burial will be officiated by the Rev. Robert Vizthum. At the request of the family, the service will be private. Final resting location is the Red Lion Cemetery. The John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York, is in charge. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Mark's honor to the American Cancer Society. www.kefferfh.com

I've known Mark since 6th grade. He was always clowning around in class and copying off of me - I take full credit for him passing 7th grade! I wish I would've known sooner about his illness and had a chance to see him one more time, but I guess that wasn't meant to be. Please accept my deepest sympathies.
