Meredith Smith Obituary
YORK - Meredith R. (Smith) Smith, 85, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Smith.
Born July 12, 1935 in York. She was a daughter of the late James and Mildred (Meads) Smith.
She was employed for several years with Doe Spun Hosiery as an inspector until her retirement.
Mrs. Smith is survived by one step son; Scott T. Smith and wife, Deb of York, two grandchildren; Jeff Smith of Florida, and Alan Kearney and wife, Melissa of York, two great grandchildren; Olivia Kearney of York, and Alexis Hogan and husband, Jake of Pasadena, MD; one great-great grandchild; Elwood Hogan, and one sister; Joan Smith of Lititz. She was preceded in death by her son, James G. Smith.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2PM, Sunday April 25, 2021 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. Officiating the service will be Certified Celebrant Betty Frey. A visitation will be held from 1-2PM, Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. All current Covid-19 guidelines and capacity restrictions will be followed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090-6011.
