Michael J. Rutter

6,1963- Oct. 12, 2011 Michael J. Rutter, 48, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family and friends on October 12, 2011, after a two year battle with colon cancer. Mike, born and raised in York, graduated from University of Arizona and pursued a career in technology. He was most recently employed at IHS, Inc. Mike loved to learn and question conventional wisdom, he loved to laugh, but mostly he loved his family and friends. Mike will be missed by his wife, Shanna; three young sons, Jackson, Henry and Vincent; parents, Jack and Pat Rutter of York; brother, David Rutter of Summit, N.J.; three sisters Maureen Brown of Woodside, Calif., Sue Pierce of Lakewood Ranch, Fla., and Kate Herzog of Steamboat Springs, Colo., and their families. Visitation will be Saturday morning at 10 a.m. followed by a celebration of Mike's life at 11 a.m. at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 9998 Grant St., in Thornton, Colo.
