Robert W. Weikert Sr.

Robert W. Weikert Sr. GETTYSBURG Robert W. Weikert, Sr., 73, died Saturday, December 21, 2002 at his home. He was the husband of Winifred (Newman) Weikert to whom he was married for 51 years. He was born November 29, 1929 in Fairfield, the son of the late Howard L. and Sarah (Overholtzer) Weikert. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Fairfield. He owned and operated Weikert's Livestock, Inc. in Fairfield for 50 years. He was a sprint car owner for 30 years and is in the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Iowa. He was a member of the Gettysburg Eagles, the Gettysburg Moose, the Fairfield AMVETS, and the Pennsylvania Farmers Association. Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Jeffrey L. Weikert of Orrtanna, Robert W. Weikert, Jr. of Gettysburg, Howard L. Weikert of Fairfield, and Todd D. Weikert, Sr. of Orrtanna; four daughters, P. Jane Weikert and Cindy W. Kuykendall, both of Fairfield, Roberta M. Brown of Orrtanna, and Betsy R. Gulden of Gettysburg; 16 grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and three sisters, Arlene Myers of Clearwater, Fla., Clara Mae Sanders of Blue Ridge Summit, and Margaret May of Youngville, NC. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 13 E. Main St., Fairfield, with Rev. Christopher Frye officiating. Interment will be in Flohrs Cemetery, McKnightstown. The family will receive friends at St. John Lutheran Church in Fairfield on Friday morning from 9 a.m. until the start of the service. Monahan Funeral Home, 232 W.
