Mount Wolf - Jean Annette (Strausbaugh) Witmer, 83, of Mount Wolf, passed away at 11:30 AM, Sunday, March 21, 2021 at her home. She was the wife of the late Ronald E. Witmer who passed away on June 12, 2018.

Jean was born April 28, 1937 in York and was the daughter of the late Frederick H. and Markaleene Strausbaugh.

She was a waitress in various restaurants and also was a Certified Nursing Assistant with Country Meadows. Jean was instrumental in starting the first crossing guard program in Mount Wolf. She was a member of the Northeastern Senior Center and St. John Lutheran Church both in Mount Wolf.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Jane Kline and her husband David of Dover, Joyce Smith and her husband Bud of Dover, Rejean Crone and her husband Brian of Dover and Rachel Blouch and her significant other Shawn Knaub of Manchester; 8 grandchildren, Danyale, Derek, Andrew, Matthew, Kelly,Fletcher, Alexis and Carly, 10 great grandchildren and her sisters, Sandra Beaverson of Manchester, Paulette Bowman of Spring Grove and Mamie Buss of York Haven; her brother, Sid Strausbaugh of SC and a host of nieces and nephews.. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Gerald, Fred and Dwight and a nephew of Scott Beaverson.

Her funeral service will begin at 10:30 AM, Friday, March 26, 2021 at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf. Viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Strinestown Cemetery in Strinestown. Officiating at the service will be Reverend Bonnie Whittier from Grace United Church of Christ in Hanover.
