FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Mr. Lewis R. Gallimore, 76, of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Cliffdale Christian Center. The burial will be held later that day at 3 p.m. in Norman Community Cemetery in Norman.
Lewis Gallimore was married to Judy Warner Gallimore for 57 years. He graduated from Candor High School and started his mechanic career in the Gallimore Brothers Garage by teaching himself. He then continued his mechanic career at Warner's Garage, Overnite Transportation in Charlotte, UPS in Charlotte, then they moved to Fayetteville and he worked with MAC Tools. He completed his working career at Overnite Transportation as a mechanic and truck driver and retired in 2007.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Theo Gallimore; and brother-in-law, Steve Williams.
Lewis is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, Barry Gallimore and wife Pam, Daryl Gallimore and fiancée Carolyn Schilder, and Jared Gallimore and wife Laura; grandchildren, Justin Cole, Jacob Gallimore and wife Ashley, Laura Gallimore, John Gallimore and wife Karly, Kimberly Gallimore, Eddie Gallimore and Katelyn Gallimore; great-grandchildren, Landyn, Elizabeth, Ava, Brayden, Jasiah, and Kylin; sisters, Martha Parsons and husband Don, and Wanda Williams; and brother, Donald Gallimore and wife Cheryl.
Family visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Cliffdale Christian Center Mission Trips, and Gideons International.
