Gerry Sullins of Yuma passed away on January 1, 2023 with his wife, Theresa of 54 years by his side. Gerry fought long and hard with bone marrow cancer until the cancer won and Gerry lost the fight.
He was born May 13, 1949 in Havre De Grace, MO. Gerry graduated from Yuma High School in 1968.
Gerry did furniture repair and refinishing for a number of years locally. He did work at a number of furniture stores and for private people as well. This was a hobby for him. His day to day job was truck driving. He drove a garbage truck for the City of Yuma for 10 years. Then he drove truck for Bingham Equipment, traveling cross country for 5 years. After that he drove for Consolidated Freightways; delivering freight locally for 20 years until C.F. closed down after filing for bankruptcy in 2002. It was then that Gerry retired and started doing odd jobs and furniture.
He is predeceased by his parents, Franklin and Josephine Sullins and one sister, Charlotte Cubbage.
He is survived by one brother, Franklin Jr. of Centry, AR; two sisters, Carolyn of Madisonville KY and Cathy Conner.
Gerry will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Sunset Mesa is in charge of cremation. There will be a memorial at a later date.
