Myrtie Robertson Obituary

Myrtie Belle Robertson

December 13, 1934 - October 31, 2021

Myrtie Belle Robertson passed away on October 31, 2021.

She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend to so many.

She was born in Yuma on December 13, 1934. A true Wellton-Mohawk Valley country girl at heart. She was part of one of the original families that moved to Roll, AZ (relations being The Roll's, who founded the town, The Wisby's, The Todd's, The Hatfield's- yes of the Hatfield's and McCoy's, and The Naquin's). She attended grammar school in Aztec in a 1 room school house and then went on to Yuma Union High school. She loved being a homemaker but then worked in the cafeteria at Mohawk Valley School, and nearly 20 year career with the USPS (starting at the Roll Post Office, then the Wellton Post Office and finally the Yuma Post Office.)

She is preceded in death by her late husband Louis Robertson, her mother and father Elsie and Jay D. Todd, her brother Gary Todd, her grandson Joe Todd Lykins, and her stepsons Little Louie Robertson (Charlene) and Big Mike Robertson (Melissa).

Myrtie is survived by her stepdaughter Kathy Brown (Jearold), daughter Jaynee Prinke (Dale), son Michael Todd Robertson, and daughter Renae Caez (Hector). She has 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Myrtie loved farm animals but especially donkeys, chickens, and goats. Her sweet and faithful dog Koko never left her side in her last hours of life. Gardening, watching Jeopardy and Forensic Files were some of her favorite pastimes. She was very proud to be part of a loving family and never missed an opportunity to tell each of us how proud she was of our accomplishments. She had the honor of being the Grand Marshall of the 31st Annual Pioneer Day Parade in Wellton on February 2nd, 2008.

Her family would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire Wellton-Mohawk community for being such a good friend to her and never missing an opportunity lend a helping hand when she needed one.

Her body is gone but her beautiful spirit is with us every day.

My sincerest condolences to the family. I occasionally touched bases with my cousin Myrtie while researching our Family Tree. She lovingly shared many memories, and was such a joy to know.
