Jerome W. D. "Jerry" Stokes A celebration in honor of the life of Jerome W. D. "Jerry" Stokes will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008, at St. Paul' s Memorial Church, 1700 University Avenue, Charlottesville. Jerry, who passed away on February 20, 2008, in San Francisco, participated fully in the University of Virginia and Charlottesville community for over a quarter of a century. He was an enthusiastic father and grandfather, a stalwart supporter and lover of the arts in all their myriad forms, and a witty and intelligent raconteur and friend. Jerry retired in 2004 after serving 27 years as Senior Assistant Dean and Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at the University of Virginia School of Law. Jerry' s family looks forward to meeting friends and colleagues at a reception in the Parish Hall immediately following the service.
