Beverly Runge

Beverly H. Runge Beverly H. Runge, 78, of Charlottesville, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2008, at a local nursing facility, surrounded by her family. Born on September 7, 1929, in Richmond, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Robert Hackett and Julia Patton Hackett. Her husband, William Runge, also predeceased her. Mrs. Runge was an Assistant Professor/ Associate Editor at the Papers of George Washington at University of Virginia for 37 years, and was involved with historical research. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mary Washington College and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Virginia. Survivors include her four children, Ann Hopke and her husband, Mike, of Alexandria, Virginia, Peter Runge of Charlottesville, and James Runge and his wife, Sofia, of Henderson, Nevada, and Margaret Runge and her partner, Kevin Boylan, of Richmond, Virginia. She is also survived by her grandchil-dren, Camille Runge and Sandra Horna of Henderson, Nevada, and Brooke and Scotty Hopke of Alexandria, Virginia. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the animal sanctuary Rikki' s Refuge, P.O. Box 1357, Orange, VA 22960 or to the Hospice of the Piedmont, 2200 Old Ivy Road, Suite 2, Charlottesville, VA22903.
