Anne Ockes Obituary

Anne Mabel Ockes Nov. 13, 1919 - Oct. 15, 2010 Resident of Fremont Our beloved Anne was born on November 13, 1919 and peacefully passed away on October 15, 2010. She was 90 years old. She will be missed dearly by her relatives, friends, and neighbors. Anne met her husband at a "Jack and Jill" social outing in Chicago where they both grew up and attended college. She is survived by her husband John with 52 years of marriage. Their daughters are Amy Robins and Connie Stuetzer, son Kylan Ockes, and five grandchildren: John Robins, Samantha Robins, Valerie Fox, Elec and Laticia ThureOckes. In 1963, John and Anne along with their 3 year old daughter, Amy, moved to California to begin a new lifestyle adventure. Anne worked in retail sales but preferred to be a homemaker for her family. Traveling in the United States and Europe as well as taking a cruise ship to far away places is what she enjoyed. Weaving was her hobby along with cooking, sewing, puzzles, gardening outdoors and houseplants indoors. Anne loved purple Iris plants and African Violets especially. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 23, at 4pm at the Newark Community Church, 37590 Sycamore St., Newark, CA 94560. Fremont Chapel of the Roses (510) 797-1900
