Consuelo G. Ibarra

Consuelo G. Ibarra Resident of San Leandro Sept. 19, 1917 - Oct. 23, 2010 Consuelo G. Ibarra departed on Saturday, October 23, 2010, after a valiant struggle with cancer. She touched many lives with her gentle spirit and loving nature. Consuelo Garcia de Ibarra was born in Mexico City, Mexico, to Jesus Garcia and Paulina D¡az de Garc¡a, on September 19, 1917. She had a wonderful childhood and later studied nursing. She worked for short period of time in a maternity ward at a hospital in Mexico City. She loved and enjoyed being a nurse and always talked about the close friendships she developed with her colleagues and co-workers. On October 10, 1945, Consuelo married Jos‚ Ibarra G¢mez. Soon thereafter their first son was born-Flavio Julian. After Flavio, came Sa£l Ulises, Nestor, Patricia, Jos‚ Jr., and Rene Jos‚. She always had radio music on, liked to cook, dance, and was happiest when she was caring for her children and grandchildren. Consuelo is survived by her devoted sons Flavio of San Leandro, Rene of Sacramento, and daughter, Patricia (Jose) of Oakland, and grandchildren Angel, Ursula, Adria, Kenya, Sunee, Jos‚ Alfredo, Daniel, and great-grandchildren Adan Javier Ortiz, Esteban Gabriel Ortiz, Mateo Sa£l Cafaro, Arianna Christina Ibarra, and Javier Jesus G¢mez. She is also survived by her sisters Teresa Garcia and Lourdes Garcia de Becerril of Mexico City, Mexico. She will be missed by her extended family members including Jos‚ and Kevin Arredondo, Veronica Landin-Ortiz, George Gomez, Patty Ibarra, Rick Cafaro, Gil Miranda, Sylvia Ibarra, Kimmeri Ibarra-Kincaid as well as a host of nieces and nephews in Mexico and the USA. Her spirit will be with us forever. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 4-7pm & Rosary at 7pm on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Albert Brown Mortuary, 3476 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA. A funeral mass will be held 9am, October 28, 2010, at Cathedral of Christ the Light, 2121 Harrison Street, Oakland, CA. Burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Oakland, CA.
