Prayer Shawls 4 Fallen Soldiers ([email protected]) is an organization with groups throughout the country who strive to send handmade prayer shawls and/ or lap robes to families who have lost a loved one in service to our country. Members of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, PA would like to honor your son's sacrifice and memory by sending our prayers and comfort through a shawl which we will mail to you. If you are interested, please contact me at [email protected] with the names and addresses and what they would like to receive. We will send them as soon as possible. Also, if you know of any other families who are grieving the loss of a loved one who died serving our country, please pass along my e-mail address, as our organization can no longer get family contacts through the military. May God bless you and comfort you in the days ahead. Sincerely, Lynne

”Honor and Remember” - “Project Compassion” We love our Soldiers! We love our country and we cannot express enough love and compassion to the families of our fallen heroes. War does not discriminate – It breaks our hearts to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to the hero’s Mother, Father and/or spouse. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Almost 2,000 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one American to another!
This is a gift! We have some wonderful sponsors who help with the costs, and only want you know that we care.
Contact us directly at [email protected] or go to www.heropaintings.com . If you have already had a portrait completed, we pray that you are enjoying the portrait and God Bless You.
Sincerely and Respectfully,

I met Corey in Ft. Leonardwood, MO. I had the chance to spend time with him and his fiance. I apprecited him and his sense of humor. He was not just a battle buddy, room mate, but was also my ex-husband's closest friend. He helped Jayson get through Basic when it came to being home sick because he too, was missing his family. I remember all of us going out to dinners or to the movies. We joked a lot about how we were stuck in the middle of no where and there was a reason why Ft. Leonardwood was called, "Ft. Lost in the woods." I really was glad Jayson had such a nice guy as one of his friends. He had a great smile and boy, his eyes lit up when he talked about his son. He definitely was a proud Daddy and couldn't wait to show me pictures of his son! I know that my ex was disappointed when they didn't get to do AIT together, also. Though, I only got to spend a few days with Corey while visiting Jayson, he left such an impression on me. Corey and Jayson were sent to different duty stations after AIT but we still kept in touch. We sent emails from time to time or got pictures of when he got married or of his son. Then, for quite a while we didn't hear anything from them. I'm not sure why I came across Corey's Honor the Fallen Heroes page, but I just sat there in disbelief and cried. At the time, my husband was overseas for his second deployment. I can't explain the sorrow I felt for Corey, his family, his child, his friends, his brothers and sisters in arms, any one that knew him and missed him very dearly. I have NEVER forgotten about Corey. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone that wishes he was still here with us. May God comfort you through your sorrow. They say that time heals all wounds but I really feel that some things we carry in our hearts, always. And, I know that Corey lives on in many of our hearts for the memories we shared with him or for the person he was. I am glad I had the chance to meet him. I came across a few pictures of him the other day with my ex. It made me smile but also brought some tears as well. I just wanted to share a little piece of what Corey brought to me and my family. Again, I am so sorry for your loss.....my prayers continue for your family as well as for his son.

Corey,
Happy Birthday in Heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Birthdays In Heaven
Are there birthdays in Heaven?
Does the angel blow his horn?
Announcing to everybody
That this is the day you were born?
Can the stars be your balloons
And angel food your cake?
Presents wrapped in moonbeams
All the angels helped to make.
Birthdays meant so much to you
They were always a big deal
Birthday presents, lots of friends
And perhaps a special meal.
So we'll whisper a little prayer today
Asking everyone up above
To sing you a Happy Birthday song
And give you all our love.

Father we entrust our brother Corey to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.
May God hold Corey in the palm of His hand. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My deepest sympathies.

It is difficult to know what to say since I want to express sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Pfc Small. Please know that your loved one is not forgotten. I wish everyone impacted by this tragic loss strength and peace. I hope that Pfc Small knew that there are people in America who respect his great courage in serving as a member of the US military. Although I did not know him, I know that he must have been a very special person to be willing to do something that most Americans will never have to experience, and for that we can never say thank you enough.
Thank you Pfc Small!

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Corey, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

As it's almost been 5 years, I still remember you Corey. You helped me though a depressing time for both of us and I know you, Chip, and Josh are together watching over us. I miss your bear hugs too. Thank you for serving our country, but your time was too short.

I didn't personally know you or your family, but saw this terrible news online and felt compelled to say something! - Thank you for your service to our country and keeping me and my family safe, secure and free - You paid the ultimate price for my freedom with your life and I am forever grateful - A simple thank you seems so little at a time like this - I pray for the family and friends you left behind and hope that they can somehow find peace at this very difficult time - God Bless you and all who knew you.

I was pretty good friends with corey for a number of years. I was actually fortunate enough to meet up with him briefly while deployed. We spoke shortly of the small town we came from and what was going on back there and then we were off to do what we had to do. That was about 2 weeks before he died. I like to think that there was a reason for that chance meeting. He will be missed.

I met corey just days before he deployed to Iraq. He was helping my husband prepare for his deployment. My husband had just arrived to fort polk and didn't know his way around. Corey seemed very proud to do what he was doing and still took the time to help others despite his nearing deployment. I'm sure he had alot of things to do himself. Thanks corey. My husband and I will always remember you.
