Our beloved Jody passed away on January 27, 2021 in the Big Island (Hawaii). Jody leaves behind her incredible son Spence; Spence's Father Spence; her brother Jim and wife Lynn; cousins Dagny, Conor and Lilly; many Wood family members; and countless grieving friends.

Jody was born in Miami, Florida to her parents Jeanne & Marty Akeyson. Jody moved to Burlingame, CA when she was just three days old.
From there she moved with her family at the age of four years old to Reno, Nv; then returned to Hillsborough, CA where she lived until she graduated from Crystal Springs High school in 1976. Jody went to college in Forest Grove, Oregon; then transferred to Arizona State University where she graduated in 1981. She lived in Menlo Park, CA for many years in the '80s and '90s. She moved to the Big Island in the early '2000s.

Jody adored her son Spence and the two of them remained inseparable. They traveled and had many many wonderful times together. The bond the two of them had was wonderful. Spence misses his Mother incredibly.

Jody had many many friends in California and Hawaii. She was literally the 'life of the party' no matter where she went. She was a very kind, caring and loving person. She particularly loved animals and spent her whole live providing comfort and aid to creatures of all types.

Jody's spirit will live with all those who knew her forever! She had an infectious smile & laugh. She lived her own life with pride. She was truly
'one-of-a-kind' and will be greatly missed. She is back at peace with Mom & Dad. We look forward to the time Spence & Jody; and all of us,
will be together again.
