Sarah Hughey Obituary

Sarah V. Hughey passed away on December 23, 2023.

She was born on December 29, 1929, in Ripley, Mississippi to Madge Booker and Thomas Clayton Nix.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Dr. Tony H. Hughey, and her brothers, Thomas Alton Nix and Billy C. Nix.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy Smith (Glynn) of Punta Gorda, Florida, Anita Pollard (Tommy) of Germantown, Tennessee, granddaughter, Mallory Haines (Nick), and great grandson, Hudson Haines of Sarasota, Florida, her sister Nell Graves (Johnny) of Olive Branch, Mississippi, and Daughter-in-law, Carol Hughey of Germantown, Tennessee.

The family would like to thank the staff members of Bright Glade Nursing Home who cared for her, Cindy Nottingham, NP, and Baptist Trinity Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ridgeway Baptist Church where she was a member.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Graveside Service will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
