Jewel was a bright spot in our lives, very funny and a wonderful personality. We will miss her so much. We will continue to pray for the family, but always know that God will comfort and keep you not only thru this time of bereavement, but even when to return to your normal life. He will always be with you, holding you with his grace and mercy.

To Joyce and family, I truly am sorry about the passing of Jewel. I can't help but remember when we all was playing together and going to school in North Memphis. Then we found out we were cousins. I will be praying for you and the rest of the family. Jewel was a bright light and a friend of Shirley. We will miss her too. I know that God will keep his arms around the family as you go thru this time of bereavement. Keep trusting in him for he will see you thru this time.
Love,
Mattie & the Hatch Family

Jewel was exquisite in many respects- brains, beauty, and strength. Her little Sister, Shirley Gilliam, was my very best friend at Manassas during the 7th & 8th grades. The Gilliam Family was special and contributed so much to the North Memphis community. Rest in Eternal Peace, dear Jewel. Heartfelt thanks to her Brother, Moses Gilliam, for letting me know of Jewel's passing.
