Hayesville, NC - Cynthia Charles Grudak 84, of Murphy, North Carolina passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024, in a Clay County care facility.

She was the daughter of the late Harold and Louise Robichaud Charles and wife of the late Fredrick Grudak who died on January 11, 2022. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Grudak; six sisters, Lois Indelicato, Beverly Carpenter, Dorothy Spalding, Loretta Harper, Lillian O'Connor and infant sister, Joyce Charles; three brothers, Everett, Harold and Merwin Charles.

My mom, Cynthia Grudak, passed away yesterday. I can't put into words how much I loved her and how I will miss her.

She was a spirited, creative and talented woman who loved her family with her whole heart. She was an amazing artist who created beauty out of nothing. She upcycled and repurposed things way before it was trendy. Her home was always beautiful with her talented touch applied everywhere. She could literally make anything into something special. She grew vegetable and flower gardens that were incredible. Even when times were tough, mom managed to put the most delectable meals on the table. She was the heart of our family. A nurturing mother and grandmother who put the needs of all of us ahead of herself. She was home. Wherever she was, that's what she created, a loving home. She loved Christmas and decorating and making things. She instilled that love in me too. She always took what she had and made it 1000 times better. She was gifted in that way. She was a naturally happy person who smiled, joked and laughed easily. And she loved to dance!

I am so grateful for all the wonderful memories she left me with. And the woman and mother I am today is because of her. She is definitely a part of me. And so many things I've shared with my daughter Kirsten, is because of her, so she is a part of her as well. I love you Mom and I was so blessed to be your daughter.

Surviving are two daughters, Diana Keen and husband, Bill of Oxford, Pennsylvania, Karen Charbono and husband, Dana of Pike, New Hampshire; and one son, Fred C. Grudak of Murphy, North Carolina; two sisters, Ginny Martz of Englewood, Florida and Anita Toubeau of North Port, Florida; three grandchildren, Kirsten Charbono, Christopher Wiggin, and Brandon Wiggin; one great-granddaughter, Sarah Wiggin.

A graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Grafton, New Hampshire at a later date.
