Linda Burns Obituary

Linda Joyce Pollan BurnsAugust 13, 1948 – February 2, 2025 Springville, TN Linda Joyce Pollan Burns, 76, of Springville, TN, went home to be with the Lord on February 2, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on August 13, 1948, in Memphis, TN, to the late Charles David Pollan Jr. and Alease Martin Pollan. Linda was also preceded in death by her brothers, James Allen Pollan, Edward L. "Butch" Pollan, and Charles "Ronnie" Pollan. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 56 years, Larry Dean Burns, as well as her siblings Bobby Pollan (Vinita), Billy Pollan (Kerri), and Carol Pollan Alexander Paxon. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Kelley Burns Goodwin (Alan) of Dyersburg, TN; her son Patrick Burns (Melisha) of Paris, TN; four grandchildren, Chase Daniel (Savannah), Garrett Burns, Tyler Daniel, and Claire Burns; and three great-grandchildren, Grayson, Whitten, and Finnley. Known affectionately as "Gram" by her grandchildren, Linda had a bright and cheerful outlook on life. She was a caregiver at heart, always serving others with kindness. Linda received her Master's degree in Counseling in 1997 and devoted many years to her work with the Exchange Club at the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse and she had two additional practices, one in Newbern, TN and one in Jackson, TN. She also loved hosting a yearly summer camp for her grandchildren, fondly called "Gram's Camp." A longtime member of First Baptist Church in Paris, TN, Linda enjoyed traveling, dancing and listening to music. She was a poster child for Rock Steady therapeutic boxing. She was a consummate host who cherished entertaining family and friends. Her love for others and her infectious spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, but her memory will continue to brighten the lives of those she left behind. Pallbearers: Billy Pollan, Patrick Burns, Chase Daniel, Tyler Daniel, Claire Burns and Garrett Burns Honorary Pallbearer: Alan Goodwin
