Mike Thompson Obituary

Mike Lee Thompson, 78, of Olive Branch, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on March 1, 2025, after a short illness. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, on July 28, 1946, to O.D. and Margaret Thompson, Mike was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Mike is survived by his devoted wife, Sandra; his two children, Mike Thompson Jr. and Michele Verkerk; his cherished granddaughter, Kristin Thompson; and his elder brother, John Thompson. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Tommy Thompson. Growing up in Memphis, Mike dedicated his career to the IT field, working for several companies before spending the last 25 years of his professional life in the computer operations division at St. Francis Hospital. He retired after a fulfilling career, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and hard work. Mike was known for his kind and loving nature, always showing Christian compassion towards others. He was a pillar of strength and love for his family and friends, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him Graveside Service for Mike will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 2:00pm in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation an hour prior to the service starting at 1:00pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
