We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Dumas Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to troops in Afghanistan this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of CPL Joseph C. Dumas Jr. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community. Hey Joe :) Bre here I was just thinking about you as I'm planing for my sweet 16 I was looking at some old pic's of us and I had on a tommy hilfiguer dress on and I know I didn't like me with his clothes on and you didn't like me wearing payless shoes you wanted me in Name Brand stuff. I miss and love you :'(....

You would not believe how big Lil Larry has gotten...he will be going to High School this year. It has taken him quite a while to come to terms with the fact that you are not here with us but, we teach him to remember all of the good times we shared and to also remember the special bond that you and he shared...you are his Big Brother. I was reading Joseph's Guest Book and I was deeply touched. I can't begin to imagine how you feel at this time. I do know that we can't ever question God! God is the "giver and taker" of life. The thing that I thank God for is that Joseph will "...never know pain and sorrow again..." and that "...God has wiped away all tears from Joseph's eyes..."
I have been in the Ministry since 1979, and in 2004 God blessed me with a "personalized" tape ministry. I consider it an "honor" to do what I do. There are not enough hours in a day or ways to say "thank you" for all of your sacrifices!

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

I am the mom of Cpl. David Unger. I look over the pictures of David and Dumas while they were in Iraq. I remember Dumas's beautiful smile. I wish you some peace everyday. You are in our thoughts and prayers as are Loudin and Culbertson everyday. I recently took a trip to Washington and in the Capital Bldg. they have all the fallen soldiers pictures up. David, Dumas, Culbertson, and Loudin are right beside each other. My peace and care to you.

Mrs. Dumas I did not know your husband but I was moved to write you when I read your last entry. I wanted to share with you some words of encouragement because I know that this time is very difficult for you. I cannot know what you are going through but I will pray that God continues to give you strength and that God sees you through your pain. I want you to know that your husband is absent physically but very much with you in spirit. The Lord is standing guard over you and so does your husband. You wrote about your kids. When you are missing Joseph go and hug your babies and know that Joseph is there hugging all of you. Continue to talk to Joseph and to tell your kids about their father and what a great person he is so when they meet him in Heaven they will know him. Remember "Earth has no sorrows that Heaven can not heal"

Hey Joe, I miss you so much...Theirs not a day thats goes by that i don't think about you.
Javont'e is getting so big, I wish you was here to see him.
Sometimes I feel as if this is a dream that I can't wake up from...People tell me that I will get through it, but everyday if feels as if it is getting harder.
Why did you have to go.....I want and need you here with me!!!! Somtimes it just hurt so bad, I never thought that I would feel this type of pain, I was lookin so foward to your coming home, I know god makes no mistakes, but I wish I could have had you just a little while longer.
You will always be a hero, my hero and you will be missed, but never forgotten. I love you Joseph Claude Dumas with all my heart.

To the family of Dumas. We are with you in prayer. Joe died with my son David Unger. They were taken to soon. I too can't wait to be reunited with our loved ones. I remember David talking about Dumas when we were down there and when he was home. They were in great company with each other. I pray God gives us peace in how to deal with this. I am sorry for your loss. If there is anything I can do, even to ask or listen to anything you have to say, I will.

Joseph was a friend since Crocker Elementary School....I was deeply hurt to find out he died in Iraq but I will remember him always as the lil cousin of Derrick, Rob, and Mook (RIP).....My prayers will be with him!

My condolences to the Dumas Family.
Another soldier is gone, but another angel is home. Joe was truely a soldier. He fought for us all including the love of his life
A'shanti(his 4 yr old daughter). Joe loved her and the ground she walked on. She was his reason for life and his military decisions. Mrs. Deenie don't worry Joe is in a better place now and will always be remembered.

Please know that we loved Joe at Charlie Company. He will be sorely missed with his jokes, great smile and wonderfully hilarious way at making a dim day suddenly seem bright.
