Earl Joseph Huguenel, Sr., a resident of Metairie, La. passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026. He was preceded in death by his mother Ruby K. Huguenel, father Earl H. Huguenel, and adopted mother Rose Huguenel.

He was a graduate of Fortier High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy before dedicating many years as a police officer for both Harahan and Jefferson Parish. He was deeply proud of his service and carried those values throughout his life. He was also a longtime member of Mt. Moriah-Quitman Lodge No. 59, F.&A.M., The Farhad Grotto and the Jerusalem Shriners.

He found joy in life's simple pleasures. A good cup of coffee in the morning, afternoons spent sitting on his front porch, and time at his fishing camp. He cherished the years spent traveling with his wife, creating memories together.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Goldie Huguenel, to whom he was married for 69 years. His sons Earl Huguenel, Jr. (Peggy) and David Huguenel (Saskia); Grandchildren Dana Peters (Kory), David Huguenel Jr. (Jody), Ellen Windmann (Brett), Erin Cognevich, and Ryan Huguenel (Kalieh); and eight great-grandchildren. A devoted and loving Oldpa, he treasured every moment spent with his family and will be deeply missed.
