Rev. Larry Darrnel White

On Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 1:55 pm, God dispatched one of his angels to get Rev. Larry Darrnel White to come home to his eternal resting place. He transitioned peacefully at home in Warrenton, Virginia at the age of 70. No more pain. Now praising God forever. Rev. Larry was born on November 24, 1955, in Snow Hill, Alabama to John T. White and Annie Marie Bruner. He was lovingly raised in New Orleans, Louisiana by his paternal grandmother, Gussie Brown White. Growing up in the White family home, Larry was nurtured in the faith and accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. He was baptized at the family church, First Free Mission Baptist Church. His grandmother made sure that he was very active in youth activities including the young people's choir. Rev. Larry was educated in the Orleans Parish Public School System and graduated from Alcee Fortier High School Class of 1975. He earned his undergraduate degree from Loyola University and Doctor of Ministry from Andersonville Theological Seminary, Camilla, Georgia. He preferred not to use the title, Doctor, because he wanted to reach all of God's people from all social classes. Because of his passion for God's word, he was an excellent teacher. He would talk about God's word to anyone and share how good God was to him. Because of his knowledge of God's word, he taught Bible study and preached God's unadulterated truth to everyone. Rev. White also taught at the Union Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans. God allowed Rev. White to proclaim his word and minister to his people. He served as pastor of Broad Run Baptist Church, Warrenton, VA, Agape Church Warrenton, VA, Turning Point Church, Rockville, MD and Agape Community Baptist Church, New Orleans, LA. He also served as associate minister at Oak Shade Baptist Church, Catlett, VA and Greater King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church, New Orleans, LA. The memories of Rev. Larry Darrnel White will live forever in the hearts of his wife, Dedria Bournes White, his children: Johnta D. White (Najel), Manassas, VA; Javier L. White, Warrenton, VA; Jovante' B. White, Washington, DC; Jalen S. White, Warrenton, VA; bonus children: Stanley R. Conley, Jr. (Vincentoria), New Orleans, LA; Shannon R. Conley, Lewisville, TX, his mother, Annie Marie Bruner Kyles, Prichard, AL and his father, Rev. John T. White,(Emily- bonus mother) New Orleans, LA; sisters: LaDeidre White Fant, Hightstown, NJ; Donna White Stiger and Yolanda Thibodeaux (Rev. Kenneth), New Orleans, LA; Debra Williams (Robert), Prichard, AL; NanCee Henry (Bishop Obadiah), DeLand, Fl; Gloria Kyles, Bonita Thomas and Cassandra Curry (Anthony), all of Prichard, AL; bonus sister and cousin Marcella Perry (Rev. Dr. Paul), Del Valle, TX; brothers: Leroy Bruner (Sophia), Prichard, AL; Demetrius White, Dallas, TX; Jonathan White (Dawn), New Orleans, LA; Rev. Dr. Chad White, Sr. (Elleanora), Louisville, Kentucky, and bonus brother and cousin LTC (Retired) Darius White (Dr. Latechia), Huntsville, AL. Larry had a special relationship with each of his siblings and his cousins as well. Cherishing his memory is also a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. A service celebrating the life of Rev. Larry D. White will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Greater King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church, 3305 Audubon Street, New Orleans, La. 70125. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. service time. Rev. Dr. Chad White, Sr. officiating. Interment: Private.
