(E-5) Edward L., Charlie Company 1-77 Armor Division, age 25, of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2007 in Ramadi, Iraq while bravely serving his country with the United States Army. Preceded in death by his grandmother, Jean E. (Brooks) Sandefur (2001); grandfathers, George Smith, Jr. (1977) [WWII VET], Fred Richardson, Sr. (2005), William Henry (2003); uncle, Fred Richardson, Jr. (2004); aunt, Vera E. (McReynolds) O'Neal (2004). Left to mourn are his wife, Ivana Brooks & children, Shaquan & Shantique; son, Darnell Klauser; mother, Sterling Brooks; father, Edward Love (Kimberly) Smith; brothers, Stefan Mario Richardson, Justin Love Smith, Andrew Love Smith, Shawn Joshua Love Smith; sisters, Porsha Nichole Smith, Sharee L. Funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, September 7, 2007 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3801 Fairbanks Avenue. Rev. Andre Hayes officiating, Rev. Timothy Newkirk, Pastor. It's been a lifetime since you were taken home and it still feels like yesterday that we were walking home hours after drillteam practice ended. Eddie you really made a diffrence in alot of peoples lives , I'm no quite sure why you were taken so young and I don't think I ever will but I do know there was reason beyond us . Can't believe its coming up on 2 years. It still hurts just as much. I really miss talking to you. Everytime I see our fellow Black Knight members, its a bitter sweet reunion cause it always reminds me that we will never have one of those reunions. One day all of us missing you will see you again.
