Delano Brooks, USAF (Ret.), went to be with the Lord on February 10, 2026. He was born on June 15, 1945, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, and grew up in Tazewell, Tennessee.

Delano proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 24 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. A Vietnam Veteran, he exemplified service, dedication, and integrity throughout his military career and beyond.

A man of deep faith, Delano was a loyal parishioner of St. Dominic's Catholic Church and a Fourth Degree Officer in the Knights of Columbus, always committed to serving his church and community. His life was defined by his devotion to God, family, and country.

Delano will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He touched countless lives through his kindness, humor, and steadfast spirit.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ben Brooks; mother, Francis Fultz Wilson; sister, Freida Baird; and brother, Dwight Brooks.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Maria Brooks; son, Phillip Brooks (spouse, Kerri Andrews); daughter, Sandra Brooks (spouse, Kenneth Eason); grandchildren, Kiely Koss, Dalton Brooks, Olivia Brooks, and Case Brooks; siblings, Randy Brooks, Sharon Shives, and Ricky Brooks; as well as brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, February 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, with burial following at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any charity supporting Kidney Disease research or treatment, in Delano's memory.
