We will never forget our dear Uncle Bob.
when I was a little kid.....we would have holidays together. Thanksgiving. Easter. Summer vacations. As always, he'd keep us kids laughing in delight as he teased us "you want a knuckle sandwich?" calling us all sorts of names but we knew that under that gruff exterior was a sweet old soul, loving us as he knew how.
when i was sixteen, i got to spend an entire summer with Aunt Lori and Uncle Bob. After the initial shock of a drive from Southern Cal to Houston, TX, with Aunt Lori and cousin Billy, I was welcomed into the household by Uncle Bob. All summer he was funny, sweet, and endearing. Being raised in a family of six kids, i didn't have much opportunity to be spoiled or treated as a special only child. I got to receive that feeling of being special that summer, and i've never forgotten it.
as we've all grown up and grown older, we are affected by change. our faith and fate itself has brought us joy and sorrow, things we could have never foreseen and things that we are happy to embrace. fortunately, happily, some things have not changed and one of those was our dear Uncle Bob. Never to be forgotten, we salute you. love from
