Joe Knepper Obituary

Joe J. Knepper, 84 OCEANSIDE -- Joe J. Knepper passed away of natural causes on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at his home in Oceanside, California. Mr. Knepper was born June 12, 1926 in Somerset, Pennsylvania to Ralph and Zelia Knepper. He was one of nine children. Mr. Knepper served in the Unites States Army. He received a degree from Penn State University and received his Masters degree in aeronautical engineering from University of Southern California. He moved to California in the 50s and worked for North American Rockwell for 40 years. He worked on projects including the Saturn 5 Rocket, the Space Station, and the B1 Bomber. Mr. Knepper was an avid golfer. He enjoyed travel, cooking, reading and everything having to do with flight. He will be missed by his family and everyone who knew him. Mr. Knepper is survived by his sons, Alan Knepper and Mark Knepper; his daughter-in- law, Stacey Knepper; and his granddaughter, Taylor Alexander. A service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday October 23, at Fairwinds Ivey Ranch, 4490 Mesa Drive, Oceanside, Calif. 92056. Senior Pastor Richard Hull will officiate.
