HAYNES, Delma Carter, 90, of West Point, Va., died Tuesday, October 14, 2008. Her husband, Ellis Haynes, of 61 years, preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Harriet and David Crowther of Kilmarnock; a son and his wife, Bryant and Sandy Haynes of West Point; two grandchildren, Carter Bender and Ross Haynes. A graveside service will be held Thursday, 2 p.m., in the Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery, Shanghai, Va. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m., at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, Va. Memorials may be made to West Point Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department, Inc., Box X, West Point, Va. 23181, or to the charity of your choice.
