Marian Averill Lawson

LAWSON, Marian Averill, 50, of Charleston, S.C., entered the gates of heaven on Sunday, March 8, 2009, at her home. She was the daughter of the late Louis Russell Lawson Jr. and Rosamond Salmons Lawson. She was graduated from St. Catherine's School, from the University of Evansville, Indiana, and received a Master's degree in applied history from the University of South Carolina. She is survived by her sister, Rosamond Lawson of Mt. Pleasant S.C.; her brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Katherine Lawson of Richmond; three nieces, Laura Dingledine Rembert of Charleston, Molly Dingledine of Asheville, N.C., and Sarah Lawson Breeden of Richmond; and a nephew, Benjamin Lawson of Columbus, Ohio. A memorial service will be held at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Charleston on Wednesday, March 11 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Catherine's School.
