Joan A. Harrison, 86, of Green Valley, Arizona passed away on November 13, 2025 in Gilbert, AZ. She was born on July 29, 1939 in Gallatin County, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Zola (Wood) Edwards.
Joan was a 1957 graduate of Ridgway High School and a 1960 graduate of Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing receiving a Registered Nurse degree. She later attended the University of Evansville graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She had a long nursing career in hospitals, Public Health, and skilled nursing settings. She enjoyed spending time with family, playing tennis, reading, traveling the world, and watching the Phoenix Suns basketball games.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynn (Jim) Weed of Chandler, AZ and Susan Muller (Patrick Greathouse) of Charlotte, NC, granddaughter, Kate Muller, sister Jane McGuire of Oro Valley, AZ, uncle Ted Wood of Carmi, IL, nieces and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Harrison, her father Charles Edwards, her mother Zola McGuire Myers, brothers Wood Edwards and Stephen McGuire, and a grandson Jacob Muller.
In accordance with Joan’s wishes, a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
