LESTER PODOLSKY Obituary
Lester Podolsky is survived by his wife, Charlene, whom he married in 1994; his children Robin (Jim) Straus, Patti (Rick) Miller, Jill (Doug) Bullock, and Peter (Melina) Podolsky; two devoted step-daughters, Lori Kleiman (Andy Korn) and Debbie (John) Hickey; proud grandfather to fifteen beloved grandchildren; Joe (fiancé Allison Aron) and Dan Straus, Sarah, Andy and Julie Miller, Justin and Corey Bullock, Jordan and Dylan Podolsky, Marjorie and Adam Korn, Libby Snow, Erin, Troy and Courtney Hickey; dear brother to Marcia (Dr. Marvin) Cooper; he was predeceased in death by his wife of 37 years, Judith Berry Podolsky. Lester was a native Chicagoan, attended New Trier High School in Winnetka, IL and the University of Indiana. Lester will always be remembered for his love of family and his incredible ability for friendship. A memorial service will be held TODAY, Monday, June 13, 2011, 2 p.m. at Weinstein Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd., Wilmette, IL 60091. 847-256-5700. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Lester's name to Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation, 251 E. My condolences to you all for your dad passing away. I can see his salty smile on Betcha Two on Lake Michigan, and his comments that " even Mildred wouldn't sleep on this couch " in Iron Mountain when it was below zero - skiing!

Robin, Patty, Jill and Peter, I was so saddened to hear about the loss of your father. I only have wonderful memories of him and your family throughout my four years at HPHS. The best being, him attending a meet after Robin had graduated and he came in caring a bottle of champagne to celebrate a victory. Those were the good old days. My thoughts are with all of you at this time.
