Michael Marino Obituary

Stonington - Michael Joseph Marino, 57, of Wheeler Brook Park, Stonington, died peacefully on Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at The Westerly Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Mary Ann (Edwards) Marino.

Born in Westerly on March 31, 1953, he was the beloved son of Mary (Pesimer) Marino of Westerly and the late Joseph Marino.

Michael was employed at Foxwoods Resort in the engineering department. He also worked at Lehigh Oil Co., Amerigas Co., South County Gas Co., and Hendel Petroleum Co.

Michael served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Mytic Rod and Gun Club and the Teamsters. He was an avid cake baker and enjoyed sharing his cakes with family and friends. Michael spent many summer days traveling the countryside on his beloved Harley Davidson motorcycle. He loved working with his brother and nephews on rebuilding the Jeep.

Besides his wife and mother, he will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Springer of Westerly, Jeffrey Marino of West Kingston, R.I., Jonathan Marino, Rose Tilley, and Ann Chappell, all of Westerly. He also leaves his aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, R.I. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
