On Wednesday, April 10, 2013, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of Louise M. Mikell; father of Alexcia Mikell Wells (Joseph); grandfather of Channing Joseph Ira Wells. Also survived by other loving family and friends. Relatives and friends may call at Northeastern Presbyterian Church, 2112 Varnum St., N.E., Washington, DC, on Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 10 am to 11 a.m., with service at 11 a.m. Interment Quantico National Cemetery on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 12 noon.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Goodbye to my friend, mentor and adviser. I learned many lessons from you in patience, understanding and experienced reasoning. You will be missed by many, but the Lord now has a competent angel.

I will definitely miss you. We only met a few years ago but in that short time I came to think of you as family. You and Louise had a life together that many of us will never achieve. The love and respect and faith in god that you to shared was an inspiration. The love you exhibited toward your daughter and grandson was beautiful. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life if only for a short time. I know you're having a high old time with the original Buffalo Soldiers. You will be missed. Love, Benita Davis
