Family-Placed Obituary


HUFFMAN, Howard Jr. age 84, of Dayton passed away on February 11, 2006 at the VA Medical Center Hospice unit. Howard was the owner of Huffie's Bar-B-Que, a retired master bricklayer and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents Carrie and Howard Huffman, Sr.; two sisters, Lillian and Emma; and two brothers, Brooks and Robert. He is survived by his loving wife, Iris; son, Howard III (Mary) Huffman; four daughters Barunicgi Crouch, Pammara Huffman, Jamila-Karen Musa, and LaTanya (William) Cox; a sister, Everlee Presley; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. Funeral Service, 11:00 AM, Friday, February 17, 2006 at the Bethel Baptist Church, 401 S. Paul Laurence Dunbar St., with Dr. Charles Brown officiating. Interment: Dayton National Cemetery. Viewing 4-9 PM, Thursday, February 16, 2006 at the McLIN FUNERAL CHAPEL/ NORTHERN HILLS, 2801 N. Gettysburg Avenue. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 PM at the Chapel.

We all miss you. We had thanksgivind dinner at the restaruant, and you were the main topic. Your grandkids talk about their fond memories of you. Jamaal, spoke of the time you bought him, his first pair of roller skates. Ishmael, Billy, and Isaiah, all shared their memories of you. LaTisha, told us how you ask her if she ate Pork. Asha,Aminah, and Fayola, talked about you also. Even, Aisha, Ishmael"s wife spoke about. We all felt your present, and miss you, Love you Daddy.

Dear Pastor & Mrs. LaTanya Cox,

We are so sorry to hear about your loss. We will be praying for you and your family during this very difficult time. Remember that God hears our every prayer! Life is a novel at times and only God can be the author of each of our novels and we need to let him write all of our stories in life. But, it is wonderful to know that God will always be with us and that our heart does not need to be troubled. If there is anything that our family can do for your family, please gives us a call!!
