Barbara "Bonnie" Ann Duncan, of Cumberland, passed away on the evening of Tuesday, September 16th, 2025, at UPMC Western Maryland Hospital. She was 79 years old.
Born on February 28th, 1946, Bonnie was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas McHugh and Dorothy (Hess) McHugh. A proud graduate of the Fort Hill High School Class of 1964, Bonnie carried her school spirit and warmth with her throughout life.
She is now joyfully reunited with her late husband, John Duncan, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and devotion. Together, they built a home filled with warmth and unforgettable memories. John was the love of her life, and not a day passed that she didn't speak of him with affection and gratitude. Their reunion brings comfort to those who loved them both, knowing they are together again, hand in hand.
Bonnie is survived by her loving daughter, Kristi Duncan-Arnold, and husband Will Arnold; her cherished granddaughter, Lilly Duncan and husband Matt Farren; and adored grandson, Kristopher Conrad; and her treasured great-granddaughter, Lorelei Farren.
Family was the cornerstone of Bonnie's life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love knew no bounds. Known for her radiant smile and sparkling personality, Bonnie had a gift for making everyone around her feel welcomed and loved. She truly lit up every room she entered and was the heart and soul of every gathering. Her joy was contagious, and her memory will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Saturday, September 27th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services will follow immediately at 1 p.m. with Pastor Everett Spence officiating.
Inurnment will be on a later date and with her husband in the Maryland Veteran's Cemetery at Rocky Gap, Flintstone, MD.
Bonnie's legacy of love, laughter, and light will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
