James Milne Obituary

James W. Milne passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 in Vancouver, Washington while returning from his job in Fairbanks, Alaska. Jim was born in Oakland, California on September 8, 1943 to Bill and Kathryn Milne. Most of his life was spent in the Napa Valley where he attended school until transferring to Lodi Academy graduating in 1961. Jim was a heavy equipment operator and helped build several of the golf courses around Napa. In the last 15 years he was a painting contractor. Last year Jim went back to work as a heavy equipment operator in Alaska with Q4M Production Co.
Jim loved boating and skiing. He especially enjoyed teaching young people to ski. He loved shooting also, but he was not a hunter. He loved animals and his dogs were a big part of his life. Jim sang with several Christian groups including the Heritage Singers, St. Helena Hospital Men's Choras, Norman Skeels Chorale, and the Harlan Miller Chorale.
Jim is survived by his daughter Tammi Mazziliano and three grandsons. Mario, Carlo and Matteo. He is also survived by his companion for the last 11 years, Sharon Blaufus, and his younger sister, Karyn Milne of Aloha, Oregon, her two daughters, Dawn and Marni, and son Erik and their families. A memorial service for Jim will be held Saturday, October 23, at 4:00 p.m. in the Napa Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1305 G Street, Napa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Honor Memorial Program, P. O. Box 11454, Alexander, Virginia 22312, or to the organization of your choice.
