Clay Adler (1989 - 2017)

Clay Adler, who starred on the MTV reality show "Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County," died March 26, 2017, a day after deliberately shooting himself during a trip to the desert with friends, according to TMZ. He was 27.

Adler starred on two seasons of "Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County."

When Adler started acting, he became friends with Jennifer Lawrence when she was also just starting out in Hollywood.

In honor of Clay’s passion for surfing, friends and family gathered at the beach and paddled out to sea on surfboards.

"We are saddened by the news of Clay Adler's passing," MTV told E! News in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this time."

“Newport Harbor” co-star Allie Stockton paid tribute to Clay on Instagram.

"At a loss for words and truly heartbroken," she wrote. "We love you so much Clay.”
