Donald Bunker Obituary


Donald Gene Bunker, 86, passed away peacefully Friday, February 26, 2016 at Eskaton FountainWood Lodge in Orangevale, California. Born in Dodge City, Kansas, on April 11, 1930 to Lee and Alice Bunker, Donald was a 52 year resident of Yuba City. As a partner in three trucking firms, Associated Transportation, Sierra Express and Wildon, he was an established member of the local business community.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Lorena Bunker and is survived by his three daughters Valerie Fitzpatrick of Livermore, Dianna Ferguson of Orangevale and Kathryn Cassley and husband Daniel of Fair Oaks. He is also survived by his sister Betty Johnson of Perry, OK; four grandchildren: Timothy Smith and wife Eva, Kristina Smith, Danielle Gundlach-Cassley and husband Benjamin and Matthew Cassley; two great-grandchildren: River and Rowyn Gundlach-Cassley; and many nieces and nephews.

Donald was known for his steadfast and thoughtful approach to life. He will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 19, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Eskaton FountainWood Lodge, 8773 Oak Ave., Orangevale, CA. In honor of Donald's relaxed approach to life, attendees are encouraged to wear casual attire. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to your favorite charity.
