Hello, Mikell's family,
I knew your mother in the late 70s and loved her quick wit, her honest observations and her kindness. She was very proud when she spoke of her kids. I'm grateful to have met her.

I was very very sad to find that Mikell passed away. I had not been in touch with her for a few years but always considered her a dear friend and teacher. I will always remember her great sense of humor. I met her at WWU in the late 70's. She was always a great support and sort of like the mom I never had.
I will always remember and cherish the "World's Best Pot Holders" I also have two small quilts which she made and gave to me. They are beautiful. I am sad I didnt get to see her for a last time. If there is a memorial or gathering of friends please let me know. Knowing your mom was a great gift to me. I am so sorry for your loss.

Julie, Chris and John.
I am very sorry for your incredible loss. I will always remember your Mom's true, honest, forthcoming spirit with awe and love. The world is truly a better place because of her. My thoughts are with each of you. "Jules"--would love to reconnect with you!

Julie - I loved your mom's spirit and her dry (wicked) sense of humor. She was always supportive of me and I miss talking to her and laughing with her. I was also impressed by your relationship with her - you both cared enough to work at it. She loved her boys just as fiercely. I just put away a baby quilt that you made me and it was given to me at a shower hosted by you and your mom - and I thought of Mikell. Then I ran into your spouse grocery shopping and next to him was a tall beautiful girl - your daughter! Incredible. I lost my mom after Thanksgiving so I know how difficult it is to say goodbye. Hope your family will draw strength from one another during this difficult time.
