Nov. 13, 1916 - Aug. 13, 2016 Augusta Margaret Brown Ragsdale, a resident of Kirkwood by the River, Birmingham, AL, formerly of Mobile, AL passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016. She was born on November 13, 1916 in Meridian, MS to Augusta Waller Brown and Joseph Adolphus Brown. She spent many years in Mobile where she raised her family and was an active member of Dauphin Way Methodist Church. She loved designing and creating exquisite French hand sewing for her three daughters and was an avid bridge player. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years, Victor Darrah Ragsdale. She is survived by her three daughters: Margaret Ann Whitaker (Bill) of Mountain Brook, AL; Vicki Elizabeth Gregory of Mobile, AL and Carol Waller Houston (Van) of Fort Payne, AL; Grandchildren Karen Leigh Whitaker, Atlanta, GA; William Darrah Whitaker, Henderson, NV, Noel Gregory Amason (Robert), Tuscaloosa, AL; Bryan Scott Gregory (Elizabeth), Mobile, AL; Ellen Houston Peavy (Craig), Signal Mountain, TN; Julia Houston Mosher (Chad), Fort Payne, AL and ten great grandchildren. A private family graveside service will take place in Meridian, MS on Saturday, August 20th. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association of Central Alabama, PO Box 2273, Birmingham, AL 35201 or a charity of your choice.
