Pauline Elliott Obituary

Pauline Stichler Elliott was born August 9, 1942, in Houston, TX to Paul and Mary Stichler. As a girl, she lived in the farmhouse her father and mother built in Stafford, TX with her two younger brothers, George and Charles. Pauline spent her her childhood enjoying life on the farm and excelling in the 4-H club. She won numerous awards with her animals, record keeping, demonstrations, and her cooking and sewing. These skills eventually led her to Sam Houston State University where she majored in Home Economics. Pauline met Tommie Elliott in the fall of 1961 and fell in love. They were married on January 27, 1962. She graduated from Sam Houston and became a teacher.

During her 30 years at Reaves and later Cryar Intermediate, Pauline touched the lives of many of Conroe's children. She loved her job and her students, and they loved her. She was honored as the first recipient of Conroe ISD's Second Mile Award which honors those teachers who always go the second mile for their students and fellow teachers.

In addition to teaching, Pauline was an active member First Baptist Church Conroe where she volunteered in the church library for many years. She enjoyed time as a member of the Susie Hill Women's Circle at First United Methodist Church in Conroe, and was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society for Women Educators from 1998 to the present. Pauline retired from teaching in 2009 and continued to live in Conroe near her son Trent and his family, until she moved to Hideaway, TX in 2013, where she lived out the rest of her life near her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Aaron.

I taught with Mrs. Elliott at Reaves Int. for 16 years and really learned a lot. I knew right away I better listen to her and do what she said. She raised a wonderful family and was good to all her students. I will miss her but my goodness don't ya know that new and glorified body she has now must be great. No more pain.
