Douglas McFarland Obituary
Dougie, age 25, was enjoying life on earth when it ended abruptly October 11, 2010. Dougie looked forward to the moments when he could snowboard or ride the motorcycle he'd recently rebuilt with his dad. He was in his element helping friends, planning events, cooking celebratory feasts. His adventure in culinary arts began at age 15 at Macaroni Grill, then Elephant Bar and this year he was instrumental in opening Entourage Gastropub in Brea as chef and kitchen manager. His welcoming smile, outrageous humor and kindness nurtured family and friend; his charm brought people together. He will live on in the hearts of his parents, Van and Patricia; sister, Jessi McFarland; grandma, Jayne McFarland; and grammy, Helen Valkavitch; aunt, Bonnie; and uncle, Dave; with cousins, Sydney and Chris Trueman; along with extended family and friends. A memorial will be held Sunday, October 24, 4 p.m. at Entourage Gastropub, 330 W. Birch, Brea.
