Robert Laube Obituary

Memorial services will be held for Robert Bruce Laube, a Manhattan Beach resident for 53 years. Bob was born May 4, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois. He died peacefully on August 16, 2010 with family by his side after battling a chronic illness. Bob served in the Navy during World War II where he was trained as an electrician. He subsequently received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering through the GI Bill from University of Illinois and a master's degree in electrical engineering from Loyola Marymount University. He worked in the aerospace industry for 43 years mostly in El Segundo, California. The last years of his life were spent primarily traveling with his longtime lady friend, Marcella Doran. Bob is survived by his three sons: Michael Laube of Manhattan Beach, Scott Laube and family (wife, Maria, daughter, Zofi and son, Robert) of Rohnert Park, David Laube of San Diego; and a daughter, Barbara Jackson (husband, Joe, son, Robby and daughter, Jenna) of Palos Verdes. A memorial will be held for family and friends on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at Baleen Restaurant in the Portofino Hotel and Yacht Club, 260 Portofino Way, Redondo Beach.
