Grace Banton Marks

Grace Banton Marks, 89, of Gordonsville, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2009, in Burke, Virginia.

Born July 26, 1920, in Nelson County, she was a daughter of the late Leslie C. Banton and Annie Tillman Fielder. She was the wife of the late Garland Lee Marks. Grace and her husband had resided in Gordonsville, since 1969.

She is survived by two sisters, Nora Marks of New Bern, North Carolina and Carrie Reamy of Centerville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Charles H. Fielder; four sisters; and one brother.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday December 12, 2009, at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville, with interment to follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Pastor Roy Giles will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2009, at the funeral home.
