Leontine Willis Morris

Leontine Willis Morris, 83, of Schuyler, Virginia, died on Friday, April 30, 2010, at her home.

She was born on May 14, 1926, in Wilmington, North Carolina, a daughter of the late William Hardy and Mary (Mills) Willis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Morris Jr.; a son, Samuel Morris III; two sisters, Edith Dempsey and Elizabeth Dudley; and a brother, Everett Wilson.

Mrs. Morris was a member of Schuyler Baptist Church where she was involved with the W.M.U. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon A. Dross and her husband, Dave, of Indiana, and Karen L. Shannon and her husband, Michael, of Texas; three sons, David W. Morris and his wife, Karol, of Woodbridge, Kenneth D. Corbin and his wife, Kathy, of Tennessee, and Brian A. Morris and his wife, Dee, of Florida; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home in Scottsville by the Reverend Thomas Fowler. Burial will follow at Alberene Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2010, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
